And Boardwalk In WildWood The City of Wildwood was incorporated in 1912 and is situated on a barrier island comprised of five separate municipalities consisting of Wildwood, North Wildwood, West Wildwood, Wildwood Crest and Diamond Beach which is governed by Lower Township. During the off season Wildwood has a population over 5,400 according to the 2000 census, but the number of people visiting increases that number to approximately 250,000 or more during peak vacation time. In the off season Wildwood is just like any small town in New Jersey. From the Spring until late Fall our town wakes up and excitement abounds. Vacationers traveling to Wildwood for a day, week, or for the summer start feeling the exhilaration as they start on the final leg of their journey. When they enter one of the two main roads entering the barrier islands, the smell of salt air welcomes them back with childhood memories of their youth. Inn & The Beasley Point Bridges The boardwalk in Ocean City is 3 miles long. From early in the morning until 11:00 AM, you can ride a bicycle or surrey on the boardwalk. There are special lanes marked on the boardwalk for this and is a fun way to get your exercise. You can see, hear and smell the ocean and it is so refreshing and beautiful. You also can stroll along this walk and enjoy the sites, shop, go to the movies and the amusement parks or eat...Ocean City's favorite pastime! Moses Lake Washington "Washington's Great Escape" Location of one of the state's largest natural fresh water lakes, plus numerous parks and campgrounds, an outdoor recreational oasis! In addition to the natural beauty of the Columbia Basin, Moses Lake has many convenient, quality visitor attractions and facilities. A variety of lodging options are available with prices to fit any pocketbook. Enjoy a variety of family events, concerts and other activities. I lived in the blue house back in the 60's at that time it was pink. The house is on Larson Air Force Base That Was Closed In 1966 It Is Now The Grant County Airport. The Air Field Was Used By Boeing When Testing The First 747 Air Craft It Was Painted White And Had A Red Stripe. I Watched It Many Times Doing Touch And Go's On The Air Field That Was Right In Back Of Our House. Now The 747 Is About 40 Years Old. Station 1989 The Radar Base Was Deactivated In 1973. And Is Located Near Othello Washington. When You Look At The Pictures Of The Housing Area You Will See A Red House. I Lived In The Red House When I Was About 11 Years Old. There was Two Roads That Ran Up The Hill The Radar Site Was On. One Of Them Was Closed Down And Was About 2 Miles Long. We Would Sled Down It In The Winter. If We Did Not Go Off The Side Of The Mountain On The Curves We Would Have A Long Walk Back Up The Hill. There Are Plenty Of Rattle Snakes At This Location In Washington. I Also Remember One Day There Was A Explosion In The Welding Shop, And I Think It Killed 3 Airmen. My Dad "Robert C. Farmer" Worked With The Radar On The Base To Track Incoming Enemy Air Craft. They Put In A Small Gas Station When I Was There And Charged 35 Cents A Gallon. I Think The Barber Was In Charge Of Running The Pump And Cutting Hair.
